On Israel’s 58th Independence Day, the Elem association launched the Lights of Hope flag campaign for the third year in a row.
The flag, located at Tel Aviv City Hall this year, was comprised of more than 580,000 lights, making it the world’s biggest flag of Israel. The flag was lit up gradually during the campaign by public donations via SMS. For each SMS donation of NIS 10, a white light was lit, and for each SMS donation of NIS 18, a blue light was lit.
All of the money raised went toward Elem’s activities in helping under-privileged youth.
